Change: Break your chains

ANSHUMAN PATI
Have you ever wondered what stops a person from even considering start-up as a professional outlet? Why an Indian college student would prefer studying four years for a degree, he is not even interested in, than investing time in something he or she likes. A number of factors influence this but the biggest influencer is the factor of safety and security that is provided by a mainstream nine to five job. We all have this concept built in inside of us from the very beginning. Take for example middle class families of India, where parents have a standard job; their children will always have a closed and secluded mind towards start-ups and businesses. It is not their fault; it is just that this idea has never been put forward to them as in option. For them a job would be the definition of a no risk and a constant livelihood. Why would anyone risk that? But for once have you considered what your own potential can be. A person never gives in 100% of his working efficiency, up until he or she is put under pressure; we all working people know that. Then for once instead of completing your deadlines in the office why not explore something more inclined to your own comfort.
But of course you will ask, does this promise us a comfortable life at the end? Well maybe not, but how will you know if you haven’t tried it only. Yes start-ups are a big risk zone, lots of factors to focus on: building an efficient team, funding, marketing, competition and most importantly your idea and product; but at least give in your first step. For starters do some research work, understand what the market is actually all about and then start formulating an idea accordingly.
Begin today”, that’s the key word. Not tomorrow, not on some auspicious date but TODAY.  Your future is created by what you do today. Start prioritizing what is important in your life. If you can’t plan everything properly in your own life how are you going to manage a company and lead a team in the future? Forget about the past. What you have lost is already gone, how you see yourself in future is what matters.
Remove the idea of failure from your mind. If you keep playing it safe, then start up is not your ball game. Yes, you might encounter a lot of ups and downs in the coming journey but understand one thing, strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.
