PAPERS LEAKED! CBSE TO CONDUCT RE-EXAMINATION!

A circular was released by the CBSE yesterday declaring a re-examination of Economics for class 12th and Mathematics for class 10th. The dates and other details will be released on the CBSE website within a week.
Turns out, the papers were leaked prior to the examinations. In specific schools in Delhi, on 26th March, the date of class 12th Economics examination, students were found with pictures of hand-written questions in their mobiles, being circulated during the examination. There are multiple, serious underlying issues yet to be addressed in this scenario. For example - the how of the leaks.
Prime Minister Modi has asked for serious action. Reports say that HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar assures that no further leaks will be allowed, and “CBSE will put in place stronger mechanism to ensure no further paper leak happens”. He also says that they [the miscreants] will be brought to “book”.
Some parents and students are yet trying to move the Delhi High Court towards a re-exam for some other subjects – Social Studies, class 10th; and Biology, class 12th – which they claim have had their papers leaked.
It hasn’t yet been clarified whether the re-examination will be in Delhi only, or the rest of India. Reports appear to suggest appearances of leaked papers in regions outside Delhi, however.
“The Board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as are being reported. With the view to upholding the sanctity of the Board examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to reconduct the examinations in the subjects”.
Says CBSE. Images of the circular can be found on the internet.
So far, there are rumours of leaked papers of other subjects apart from the aforementioned.
Now, it also turns out that CBSE denies all claims on social media that the Economics paper (conducted on 26th) was leaked prior to the examination; and was baffled when it turned out to be true, stating (by a senior CBSE official, according to reports) that “We have checked with all examination centres and the paper was not leaked. The source of the circulation of the information is not known yet”.
“Seems some organised gangs are doing it [leak] deliberately. We are sure whosoever is doing it will be identified and nabbed soon. We have also decided to tighten security for the time when papers are being distributed,” said Javadekar.
Let’s keep in mind that this isn’t the first time leaks have occurred. There was one instance in 2006, and another in 2011. The culprits were caught both times.
What are your thoughts on this? How will re-examinations impact the students? Let us know in the comments section below!
If the re-examinations take place, it'll not only have its effects on CBSE students but also on ISC students. Probably the later examinations like JEE, AIEEE, NEET and other such competitive exams will be delayed and so will the college admissions. Even if, the re-examination does only happen in Delhi, it'll probably have an overall impact.
