The 18-year-old that shocked the world with a £12 million move to Manchester United in 2003 has risen through the footballing ranks to become the captain of his country’s national team and one of the most feared poachers in the game at the moment. Currently at Real Madrid, the Portuguese superstar has won every trophy that football has to offer.
It is no secret that football is one of the wealthiest sports. For a player of Ronaldo’s ability, and his performances on the pitch over the years, making truckloads of money is pretty easy for him. The forward made £65 million in 2016, and was naturally the highest paid athlete of the year.
For his performances on the pitch, he gets £365,000 as weekly wages, which account for almost £20 million of his annual income. This means that a major chunk of his earnings is what he earns outside of the football pitch.

Not only does the forward have Nike as his sportswear sponsor, he has a lifetime contract with the sports giants which will see him earn £1 billion by the time he is 70. Because of his appearance and extremely well-built physique, he has contracts with various other brands such as TAG Heuer and Calvin Klein.

Ronaldo has opened two luxury hotels in his home town of Lisbon in Portugal. The football themed hotels are booked for most of the year and bring in north of £10 million annually.

Cristiano has his own luxury underwear brand, footwear, fragrance and blanket brands.
